Text of recent RAM – HANUMAN discussion on RAM SETU (Adams Bridge)

<$BlogItemFeedLinks$>

Lord Ram surveyed the Ram Setu and said "Hanuman, how diligently and strenuously you and your vanara sena had built this bridge in Treta Yug. It is indeed an amazing feat. Especially considering the fact that a bridge at Hyderabad built by Gammon using latest technology collapsed the other day, even before they could stick the posters on its pillars."

Hanuman with all humbleness spoke, "Jai Sri Ram, it is all because of your grace. We just scribbled your name on the bricks and threw them in the sea and they held. No steel from TISCO, or cement from Ambuja or ACC was ever used. But Lord, why rake up the old issue now?"Ram: "Well Hanuman, NASA has just discovered it and name as Adams Bridge, but the Indian Government is confused over its existence and some people down there want to demolish the bridge and construct a canal. The contract involves a lot of money, and lots of money will be made. They will make money on demolition and then make more money on construction."
Hanuman: "Why not we go down and present our case?"
Ram: "Times have changed since we were down there. They will ask us to submit age proof and we don't have either a birth certificate or school leaving certificate. As far as the address proof is concerned the fact that I was born at Ayodhya is itself under litigation for over half a century. If I go in traditional attire with bow and arrow, the ordinary folks may recognize me but Arjun Singh may take me to be some tribal and, at the most, offer a seat at IIT under the reserved category. So it is a bit of a dilemma."
Hanuman: "I can vouch for you by saying that I personally built the bridge."
Ram: "My dear Anjani Putra, it will not work. They will ask you to produce the lay-out plan, the project details, including financial outlay, how the project cost was met and the completion certificate. Nothing is accepted without documentary evidence in India."Hanuman: "The only option I see, is to re-enact Ramayana on earth and set the government records straight."
Ram: "It isn't that easy today. Ravan is apprehensive that he may look like a saint in front of Karunanidhi. I also spoke to his mama Mareech, who appeared as a golden deer to tempt Sita. He said that he won't take a chance of stepping on earth as long as Salman Khan is around."

The FACT
The recently discovered bridge currently named as Adam's Bridge made of chain of shoals, 18 miles (30 km) long, in the Palk Strait between India and Sri Lanka, reveals a mystery behind it. The bridge's unique curvature and composition by age reveals that it is man made. The legends as well as Archeological studies reveal that the first signs of human inhabitants in Sri Lanka date back to the a primitive age, about 17,50,000 years ago and the bridge's age is also almost equivalent. This information is a crucial aspect for an insight into the mysterious legend called Ramayana, which was supposed to have taken place in treta yuga (more than 17,00,000 years ago). In this epic, there is a mentioning about a bridge, which was built between Rameshwaram (India) and Srilankan coast under the supervision of a dynamic and invincible figure called Rama who is supposed to be the incarnation of the supreme. This information may not be of much importance ! to the archeologist s who are interested in exploring the origins of man, but it is sure to open the spiritual gates of the people of the world to have come to know an ancient history linked to the Indian mythology.

The Protectors & Benefactors of the Marathi Manoos

<$BlogItemFeedLinks$>

In the last month suddenly a few politicians and their friends referred to as the intelligentsia have suddenly woken up for the rights of the Marathi Manoos.
Go back down the memory lane by just by a few decades and two people have been single handedly responsible for the downfall of Bombay, jeoparadising its growth as a industrial, technology and financial base of Bombay. Major contributor to this reverse trend has been, labour unrest instigated by labour unions patronised by these two leaders

Dutta Samant and Bal Thakeray. While one is dead the other has become frontrunner after his death and call themselves protectors of the Marathi Manoos. These two leaders have accounted for closure of many a Textile Mills, Engineering Industries & Pharmaceutical Industries all slowly shifting base to some other states in the last few decades..

These leaders have always acted as a double edged sword harming the interest of members of their trade union on one hand and harming the interest of Bombay and its industry on the other hand. While on one hand the have regularly collected membership fees from employees of these industrial units, formation of the trade union has been a disguise to threaten and coerce for payment of protection money from the management to desist from creating labour unrest. This is as good as back stabbing its own members by taking protection money from the management.

Bombay a few decades back, was in the forefront of industrial growth in India. Name the industry and Bombay was the leader whether it was textiles, engineering, electronics, pharmaceutical products or financial services. You name the best product in India and it was associated with Bombay. Bombay had many natural advantages like proximity to port, good infrastructure, easy availability raw materials and skilled, semi skilled and non skilled labour.

So what was the reason for the downfall? It has been the constant interference of the so called benefactors of the Marathi Manoos. If it would not had been for the labour unrest in Textile Mills initiated by Dutta Samant and subsequent strike and closure of textile mills in Bombay, taking Bombay 25 years in the reverse direction. Today other cities have outpaced Bombay in growth and development.

The closure of the Textile Mills itself resulted in UNEMPLOYMENT of over half a million labour, over 70% of them being Marathi Manoos. Since then these workers have lead a life of penury and state of virtual begging. I have seen them selling boiled eggs and chanas outside liquor bars and vending tea and coffee on the streets. A Marathi Manoos out of frustration assassinated the Dutta Samant after over half a decade when there was no sign of re-opening of the textile mills and the owners had already setup base in some other states.

The Cloth Market of Bombay which was its life line and the gem of the eyes of most of the merchants of India/Asia has now become an eyesore. A market which was overflowing with cash is now debt ridden.

A single Marathi manoos has been directly responsible for ruining the life and of over 500000 people at least 300000 Marathi Manoos . Add their families to it and we have a very grim picture Imagine what sort of revenue expenditure is required for creating an employment opportunity of such a huge scale.
After death of trade union leader Dutta Samant, Shiv Sena came in the forefront of trade union activity and spreading there tentacles in other industrial units. Constant labour unrest and union rivalry slowly lead to the closure of many of the engineering, pharmaceuticals, electronics & electrical industrial units in Bombay and shifting base to greener pastures.

Trade unions, most of them lead by Marathi Manoos have collectively lead to de-growth of Bombay and taken it 30-40 years behind. The son of the Marathi spinner or weaver in the mill would had dreamt of making his son a Textile Engineer, see his faith he is working as an office boy in the commercial complex which has come up on the property were once the mill stood. Another spinner, even after facing all the hardship has made his son an engineer, he has to still leave home and his parent to seek employment to some other state.

Now, with no further scope in trade union activities in industrial units, these leaders are eyeing call centers, courier firms and malls which are labour intensive and the new growth sectors. Slowly these may also move to greener pastures giving Bombay a shy due to the harassment of the trade union leaders.

While these leaders under the aegis of their political parties and labour unions are solely and single handedly responsible for the de-growth of Bombay. Ironically after being directly responsible closure of many industries and loss of millions of employment opportunities (50% being blue colored and technical) today they are fighting for the employment rights of a few thousand Marathi Manoos as attendants and labour in Malls & Hotels springing up in Bombay.

For over three decades I have failed to understand that how a small time cartoonist has become a millionaire when other cartoonist who started with him have though become famous and received international accolades, but do not have financially security even today. The nephew of the cartoonist who was until recently operating jointly (now a political leader of his own right and the latest protector and benefactor of Marathi Manoos) recently bought a property worth over Rs.400 Crores (ironically a closed textile mill) can somebody account for the source of income. Has a cartoonist earned so much and much more from just endorsing caricatures.

Why today foreign and Indian investors are overlooking Bombay/Maharashtra and setting up base in other states they are very well aware of the prevailing circumstances, they must have definitely done some ground work, and in Bombay they have a live example ENRON one of biggest corporations of the world, associated with the biggest power project in India Dhabol Power Project. ENRON today is facing bankruptcy. Bankrupt because they are not able to account for the million of dollars used for grease the palms of two consecutive Governments lead by the benefactors of Marathi Manoos.
Management of existing small industrial units in an around Bombay are tired of the constant interference of the local trade union leaders. If they employ local Maharashtrians they are easily swayed and become gullible targets of there benefactors resulting in constant labour unrest. With the formation of the union there is an additional threat of payment of protection money to these trade union leaders. Even Marathi management and owners prefer employing non-Marathi workers due to this reason.

Marathi Manoos has been always very gullible and easy targets of his benefactors oblivious of the consequences and his faith. Even today on just a call of his so called benefactor Marathi Manoos is ready to face the bullet or poverty while his benefactor makes plans for building a new castle.
